Energy Service Governance Workshop/Training

On 27th and 28th October 2016, an Energy Service Governance Training was conducted, where various local and central level partners working on sustainable energy service delivery took part. Governance training basically covered the concept of energy service governance, accountability, transparency, service quality, technology justice, tariff and relevant policy and acts. After conduction of the workshop/training, several feedbacks were received, and considering the experience and received responses, NEF concluded that the term energy includes wider spectrum including all types of fuels and technologies. And it would be difficult to intervene in whole energy sector at a time due to limitation of knowledge, tools, resources, and capacity. Thus, NEF would be promoting electricity governance instead of energy governance. With this learning, NEF has already developed concept and tools for promotion of electricity governance, and will be taken forward through capacity building of consumers and electricity service providers.
