Ms. Sarita Karki is the board member of Nepal Energy Foundation and is also leading Sustainable Prosperity Initiative Nepal as Managing Director, which is focusing on climate and disaster resilience, carbon financing in clean cooking, energy transition and policy advocacy for the sustainable development and prosperity of Nepal.
Ms. Karki was Regional Research Coordinator for conducting Asia Market Assessment of Innovative Sanitation Technologies in Indonesia and Pakistan for Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation/FSM Alliance. She worked as Human Resource and Organisational Development (HR & OD) Expert in various development and private sector organizations including ActionAid International Nepal, Teach for Nepal, Niti Foundation, Urja Developers and CE Construction, before joining SPI Nepal.
She has carried out various evaluations and review of development programs including programs on disaster, private sector engagement in recovery, and local economic development. She has also carried out research on impact of earthquake on marginalised and excluded population in Nepal and presented paper at Schwarzman College (Harvard University affliate), Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. She also led a study on Nepal Skills Report 2019 – Initial Assessment, submitted to the Government of Nepal and carried out research on finding career choices of management graduates at Institute of Public Enterprises (IPE), a leading management school in Hyderabad, India.
She holds MBA degree from Bangalore University, India. She also has Master’s in Business Studies (MBS) degree from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
