Mr. Sher Singh Bhat is Senior Energy expert with over 30 years of experience in energy sector of Nepal. He is an Electrical Engineer with MBA, which makes him competent both in technical and business administration. Mr. Bhat has worked with the national utility – Nepal Electricity Authority for more than two decades in different roles, from technical to decision making, and has an experience in working in diverse geographic location across Nepal. With his involvement of more than 20 years in the national electric utility, Mr. Bhat has a proven knowledge and experience on the Nepalese power sector.

• Member of Task Force-3 of SARI/EI on upscaling cross border trade of electricity among SAARC countries.
• Member of various task forces formed by Government on policy and regulatory issues of the sector including task force for drafting New Electricity Act and Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) Act.
• Member of drafting and negotiation Committee for Indo-Nepal Power Trade Agreement.
• Member of Indo-Nepal Power Exchange Committee and Joint Committee on Water Resource (JCWR).
• Member (representing Nepal) of SAARC Energy Expert Group.
• Invitee Member of GON Expert Group for Pancheswar Multipurpose Project.
• Member Secretary of NEA Electricity Grid Code drafting committee.
• Director in the Board Chilime Hydropower Company.

In his engagement with NEF, Mr. Bhat is leading the technical team of NEF and has provided significant inputs in the program and projects initiated and implemented by NEF.
